Job Description
The Care Aide Learner position provides an opportunity for students enrolled in an approved Alberta Health Care Aide certificate program to consolidate knowledge and skills toward competency as a Health Care Aide. As an unregulated member of the collaborative healthcare team under supervision of regulated nursing professionals, the learner provides personal assistance and support services for patients, clients, and residents requiring short-term assistance or ongoing support according to care plans and facility policies. Activities and supervision level are determined by legislation, regulatory standards, organizational policy, educational preparation, patient complexity, risk level, and learner competency. Requires enrollment in an approved Alberta Health Care Aide certificate program within three months of hire and High School Diploma.
