Job Description
The Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) assesses emergency scenes and patients, provides basic life support (BLS) care, administers minor medications, airway adjuncts, and semi-automated defibrillation, and transports ill or injured patients between emergency scenes and healthcare facilities. The PCP may lead BLS crews during emergency responses and assists with ensuring EMS vehicles, supplies, and equipment are properly stocked. The position requires working in demanding environments including extreme weather, remote locations, hazardous scenes, exposure to bodily fluids, and physically challenging conditions involving frequent lifting, carrying, kneeling, bending, twisting, and prolonged standing or sitting.
